Pre3-homeschool Art 101!

I debated for a long time of what to do for the girls for 3 year old preschool. Josh and I currently are planning on sending them for 4 year old preschool, but decided that I would do 'homeschool' preschool for 3 year old. There are many reasons for this: I enjoy us all being home and am savoring my last year of having that even be a possibility,  I am not quite ready to start the rat race, we have a lot of fun at home, and they are academically going to be more than ready for school. Socially I have accepted that the girls are shy, may always be, and that is okay. We do many play dates and we are involved in our Sunday School and BSF children's group. I find it interesting that even as I write all these reasons that I find myself once again feeling like I need to defend my reasons. I am confident in my decision, but I always have this feeling of 'what will others think' (seems to be a common problem of mine). Anyways, we decided to follow the 'ABC Jesus Loves Me' curriculum. We started about 4 weeks ago and I LOVE IT! The girls ask for art time, reading time, etc. all the time and have been having a blast. :)  Below is just a glimpse into one of our art projects. Honestly, so far it has been a great experience for myself as well. I find I am much more motivated, focused, and have fun with the kids. I am even a bit shocked to realize that I like doing art projects (and I am not artistic at all!).
The girls working on their 'ABC Jesus Loves Me' week 5 art project. They cut pictures out of magazines.  They do surprisingly well with scissors.

After they cut out their pictures they colored a background and then glued pictures to their background sheet. They love purple colored glue sticks.

Kay (left) and Grace (right) were so proud of their final project!

We couldn't figure out how to get them both to open their eyes at the same time (a common problem).

Kay with the 'smile so big my eyes shut' smile.
