Come on over and take a picture with me Josh.... |

Finally saying cheese with me! |
We finally pulled off a birthday present for Josh without him having a clue! YES! Now this may not seem like a great feat for some, but for me, it is HUGE! I have rarely pulled off a present without him guessing it or me screwing up and telling him. The surprise Red Wing tickets 4 years ago... I asked my dad about them right in front of Josh.. whoops. The list is endless. Needless to say, I was quite excited to actually pull off a surprise this time leading to his declaration that it was the best birthday present EVER (and he even posted about it on facebook which means it must be true)!
While I would like to take full credit for this feat, I really do need to give credit to Lois and Andy for inviting us along for their day of awesomeness. Not only was the Lions game super suspenseful to the very end until we finally won, but we also got the hook up through Andy. He was roommates with one of the Lion's players in college. We met his wife after the game and she gave us VIP post-game passes which allowed us to go back to where they let the players out of the locker room. Josh had no clue what was coming!!! We saw a ton of the Lion's players and even got a picture of some (I didn't take most with my camera so I will have to get the others from Lois). I knew Josh was excited when suddenly I was getting nudged in the side by Josh asking me for my camera so he could take Matt Stafford's picture! I was so fun to see him so excited. I was urging him to go get his autograph, but he wouldn't. I finally just went up, introduced myself and got his autograph myself. Happy birthday Josh!

After the game, we went out to dinner for pizza with Andy's friend, Dylan and his family. Dylan and Melody were so nice and it was wonderful hearing their testimony of how God is working in their lives and through them to wtiness to others. It was so much fun. Josh loved talking about the game, twenty questioning him about what they do, and discussing sports. It was fun hanging out and spending time with friends. Not only that, but Josh's favorite food is pizza!
We topped off the evening by going back to Lois' apartment and putting up the Christmas tree. It really was an awesome day! And when my hubby posts on his facebook page, "Had an awesome day for my birthday present!!! Who wouldn't want to go to a Lion's game where they win and then get into the VIP section after the game and see all of the lions players and get Matthew Stafford's autograph. Then to top off the evening get to hand out with some good friends and one of the players with his wife and kids over pizza!! Thank you to my wonderful wife for putting it together!!!" Geez- I can live on all that affirmation for at least another couple weeks! ;)
Yaaaaaaay!!!! I am so glad it worked out and thrilled that you all had such a great time. :) Way to go Kelly in keeping it a secret!
